With warmer weather, longer days, and plenty of sunshine ready to be soaked up, summer is the perfect season for hosting events!

From a relaxing evening with friends to an evening soirée, it’s the perfect way to get everyone together and make the most of the good weather - before we know it, autumn will be beckoning, so there’s no time to waste. To make sure you throw the perfect occasion, our team of culinary experts at The White Label have created ten canapé ideas for you summer party that are bound to make an impression.

Tandoori Marinated Chicken

Add a little exotic flavour to your summer menu with this exquisite tandori marinated chicken - a firm favourite and definite crowd pleaser. A mini poppadum combined with coriander yoghurt and mango chutney, the dish is bursting with fresh flavours and light enough to be enjoyed on even the hottest day.

Smoked Duck

Duck is a meat that can be enjoyed all year long when done right, and these light skewers are ideal for your summer event. Topped with a poached cherry for a fruity burst and parsnip puree for a more mellow accompaniment, and just a dash of star anise salt to really help the flavours burst.

Malaysian Chicken Satay

Chicken satay is always a great option for meat lovers. Easy to make and absolutely delicious, you can’t go wrong! Our chefs have created the ideal satay sauce, combining the heartiness of roasted peanuts with refreshing lemongrass to create a summery take on this dish

Seared Beef Carpaccio

For a lighter meat on hot days, seared beef carpaccio is ideal. The thin cuts make it easier to eat and not too overwhelming. We’ve paired ours with fresh rocket cress and indulgent truffle aioli, which can be wrapped within the cuts of beef for a simple yet impressive canapé.

Seared Sea Bass

Fresh fish is always a good option for summer parties, so make sure to add one of our creations to your menu! This sea bass pairs wonderfully with the tangy flavour of salsa verde on a crostini, and it’s easy for guests to munch on whilst mingling.

Cured Sumac Salmon

Salmon has got to be one of the ultimate summer flavours, and we’ve added something a little different by curing it with sumac, a middle-eastern berry that’s fresh and bursting with flavour. Pair with a spicy chili flat bread and preserved lemon relish for a canapé that’s certainly made to impress.

Ceviche of Scallops

Ceviche is a light, refreshing dish that seafood lovers will relish on a hot day, and by using scallops you’re definitely showing a more refined palette. Pair this fresh fish with chilli, lime, and coriander - three strong flavours that fuse wonderfully together. Finish with a crisp wonton wafer for that finishing touch.

Cauliflower Fritter

Cauliflower has become huge in recent years, especially on vegetarian menus. Our take involves creating a delicious cauliflower fritter, which has a hearty taste that’s still easy to eat. Combine with hot cheese sauce for a canapé that’s truly indulgent!

Grilled Goats’ Cheese

Goats’ cheese is a firm favourite for us in the summer months, so we had to include it on our canapé menu. Pair with a homemade herb pesto for a refreshing accompaniment and a parmesan water biscuit.

Roasted Asparagus Crostini

For this vegetarian canapé, begin with a crusty crostini - a great base for a light bite! Then, spread a good amount of truffle and parmesan cream on top before arranging a few sprigs of roasted asparagus on top. Delicious and simple!
